Bible Odyssey Website includes the complete text of three Bibles: the New Revised Standard Version Updated Edition (NRSVue), the Tanakh: The Holy Scriptures, and the King James Version (KJV). Each translation has a particular “flavor” so it is interesting to compare between translations.
To search for a single word, enter it in the search box, then click “search” or use the return key.
To search for a Bible passage, type it in the search box as an abbreviated or full book name followed by chapter and verse. Example: Matt 5:7 or Matthew 5:7
You may search for phrases, (e.g., “keep my covenant”) which will then give you the results with the exact book, chapter, and verse citations (in British format, e.g., “Gen.17.9”).
You can compare between translations but also within a translation. For example, a search of the phrase “eye of a needle” brings up all three (synoptic) mentions of this phrase within the New Testament.
